The University of Maine – Hotel Ursa
In 2020, The University of Maine solicited a development partner for the adaptive reuse of two 1880’s vintage historic buildings in the core of their flagship campus.
Through a public-private partnership, Radnor repositioned these buildings, which were vacant for over a decade, with a historic rehabilitation and new construction expansion project. The development created a 95-key independent hotel co-branded with the University comprising traditional guest rooms and extended stay suites. Amenities include a bistro, meeting facilities and fitness center. The on-campus hotel also serves as a cooperative workforce training ground for the University’s degree-seeking and affiliated vocational students.
In addition to its ownership interest, Radnor was responsible for designing, building, financing, operating and maintaining (“DBFOM”) the facility. The project was completed in Spring 2024.
