Meritus School of Osteopathic Medicine – Student Housing
Meritus Health (“Meritus”), Western Maryland’s largest health care provider, has recently formed the Meritus School of Osteopathic Medicine (“MSOM”) – the first new medical school in Maryland in over 100 years – to advance its mission to improve health and to address a significant physician shortage in western Maryland, southern Pennsylvania, and the eastern panhandle of West Virginia.
To accommodate needed medical student, workforce, and traveling physician housing, Radnor was selected as developer of a new 364-unit, 468-bed residential community totaling 360,000 square feet adjacent to Meritus’ campus in Hagerstown, MD.
Situated on a 28-acre site, the seven-building housing development will offer a mix of one- and two-bedroom units with covered and surface parking. The facility includes a central public green space and plaza to enhance outdoor recreation. A tree-lined entry drive will lead to an amenity clubhouse building offering co-working and study space, fitness, gaming, and gathering areas. Construction began in early 2024, and Phase One of the project was delivered in summer 2025 to serve the inaugural MSOM class. Phase Two is on schedule to deliver in 2026.
